Del Amitri Head Chef and co-owner Martin Avey is passionate about
food, a passion which began many years ago, influenced by his grandmother who encouraged creativity and lateral thinking.
Having successfully qualified in his chosen career, Martin has worked in kitchens throughout the UK building on his
creative and culinary skills.
He has achieved a great deal in a relatively short time: Two Rosettes at The Dryfesdale
Hotel in Lockerbie and at Balchary Bay Hotel in Auchencairn where he was the Head Chef for two years prior to opening Del
Amitri Restaurant in Annan with his wife Lisa. This year, the couple have secured their first AA rosette for the Del Amitri.
Martin has a comprehensive understanding of produce and flavours and is committed to ensuring the highest standards
of quality and culinary skill is reflected in every single dish which leaves the kitchen.
The menus are changed
on a weekly basis, each embracing locally-sourced seasonal produce whenever possible. The opportunity to savour different
flavours is important to both Martin and Lisa and with Martin's flair for creating varied menus, customers can be confident
that each visit to the Del Amitri is different and memorable for all the right reasons.
