Food at Del Amitri

Del Amitri head Chef and co-owner Martin Avey started cooking many years ago, influenced by his Grandmother who encouraged creativity and lateral thinking.

Having successfully completed college, Martin took positions in Chef Kitchens throughout the UK, using skills learnt to influence his cooking today.

Martin has achieved a great deal; 2 Rosettes’ at The Dryfesdale Hotel in Lockerbie and at Balchary Bay Hotel in Auchencairn where he was the Head Chef for 2 years prior to opening Del Amitri Restaurant in Annan with wife Lisa. Martin has a comprehensive understanding of produce and flavours and is passionate about the quality of every dish which leaves the pass.

This passion is evident at Del Amitri where menus are changed on a weekly basis, each menu embraces locally sourced seasonal produce whenever possible. The opportunity to savour different flavours is important to us and with Martin's flair for creating varied menus you can be confident that we will do our utmost to ensure that each visit is different and memorable, for all the right reasons.
